In 1971, anti-war protestors converged on Washington, DC

with their mission of shutting down the government.

President Nixon ordered the suspension of Habeas Corpus with the

resulting loss of civil rights for the protestors.

In 1988, the Salvadorean government, taking their example from the

U.S., also suspended civil rights in their hunger for democracy.
